Learn more about Scott Medical Equipment and why buying from an authorized mobility dealer matters.
Who is Scott Medical Equipment?
Scott Medical Equipment is a family-owned, brick-and-mortar mobility dealer with more than 16 years of experience helping people stay independent. We choose to work exclusively with Pride Mobility because it is the mobility manufacturer we are willing to put our name behind.
Today, we serve customers nationwide through our website, Amazon, and Walmart, while continuing to operate with the same family values we started with. Real people answer our phones, know the products we sell, and remain available before, during, and long after the sale.
We bridge the gap between buying local and shopping online. You receive the convenience of e-commerce with the personal care you would expect from your neighborhood mobility provider.
Is Scott Medical Equipment an authorized Pride Mobility dealer?
Yes. Scott Medical Equipment is an authorized Pride Mobility dealer and one of a limited number of dealers authorized to sell Pride scooters and power wheelchairs online, including through Amazon.
We are also a brick-and-mortar mobility dealer with our own showroom, warehouse, and service department. By utilizing our warehouse and Pride Mobility distribution centers throughout the country, we can serve customers nationwide while remaining directly involved before and after every purchase.
Your purchase includes a genuine Pride Mobility product, the applicable manufacturer's warranty, and support from a team that knows these products. Qualifying purchases also include our complimentary one-year in-home service warranty and exclusive Mobility Yours accessories.
Why should I buy from an authorized Pride Mobility dealer?
Purchasing from an authorized dealer gives you access to genuine Pride products, the applicable manufacturer's warranty, authentic replacement parts, and support from a dealer that works directly with Pride Mobility.
It also means you have someone to call after the sale. We help customers with product questions, warranty claims, replacement parts, troubleshooting, and service coordination instead of simply shipping the product and disappearing.
Can I speak with someone before I place my order?
Absolutely. In fact, we encourage it if you have any questions about seating, weight capacity, transportation, terrain, doorway clearance, or which model would work best for you.
Call us at 1-888-423-3159. We would much rather spend time helping you choose correctly before ordering than have you end up with equipment that isn't the right fit.
Warranty, Service & Support
What happens after your purchase and who to call when you need help.
What should I do if I have a problem with my scooter or power wheelchair?
Call us directly. We'll help troubleshoot the problem, work with Pride Mobility to get any covered parts on the way, and arrange for a qualified technician in your area when service is needed.
We handle the process from start to finish, so you're not left searching for parts or a repair company on your own. Qualifying purchases include our complimentary one-year Mobility Yours In-Home Service Warranty.
Call us at 1-888-423-3159.
Who repairs my device if something goes wrong?
Start by calling us. Our experienced team works with Pride Mobility products every day and can help troubleshoot service and warranty issues.
We'll work directly with Pride to obtain any needed parts and arrange for a qualified technician local to your area to come to your home when necessary. Even though we serve customers nationwide, we stay involved throughout the process.
Can I extend my in-home service coverage?
Yes, but we usually tell our customers to save their money. Even after the complimentary in-home service coverage expires, we have continued helping our customers as a courtesy.
It's part of the family culture Scott Medical Equipment was built around. We believe in answering the phone, standing behind what we sell, and treating customers the way we would want our own family treated.
If something comes up years after your purchase, call us. We'll help troubleshoot the problem, obtain any available warranty parts, and help coordinate a local technician when needed.
How do I get replacement parts or accessories?
Call us or shop the accessories available on our website. Our team can help identify the correct part for your Pride scooter or power wheelchair using the model and serial number.
If the part may be covered under warranty, we'll work directly with Pride Mobility to help handle the claim. We also carry exclusive Mobility Yours accessories designed to add storage, convenience, and comfort to your equipment.
How long do mobility scooter and power wheelchair batteries last?
With proper care, mobility batteries can provide several years of dependable service, but there is no exact replacement schedule. Battery life depends on how often the device is used, charging habits, rider weight, terrain, and storage conditions.
Avoid regularly running the battery indicator deeply into the red. Pride recommends charging after each day of use, using the charger supplied with your scooter or power wheelchair, and never storing the batteries while discharged.
Batteries may need replacement when the device travels noticeably less distance, loses power more quickly, or no longer reaches or holds a full charge. If you notice a change, call us and we'll help determine whether the batteries need charging, testing, or replacement.
Shipping & Delivery
What to expect after placing your order.
How long will it take to receive my scooter or power wheelchair?
Most in-stock scooters and power wheelchairs ship within one to two business days and arrive within approximately three to five business days after leaving the warehouse.
As an authorized Pride Mobility dealer, we fulfill orders through our own warehouse and Pride distribution centers throughout the country.
Portable models generally arrive through FedEx or UPS. Larger scooters and power wheelchairs are usually delivered by a freight carrier. The freight carrier will call to schedule delivery, and a signature will be required.
Some accessories may ship separately from your mobility device. Our Mobility Yours Storage Pod, for example, may arrive separately by FedEx Ground.
Is shipping really free?
Yes. Shipping is free throughout the contiguous United States. There are no hidden freight charges, residential delivery fees, or liftgate surcharges added at checkout.
Some accessories may ship separately, but there is no additional shipping charge. At this time, we ship within the lower 48 states.
Will the carrier bring my scooter or power wheelchair to my door?
Portable models shipped through FedEx or UPS are generally delivered to your door. Most larger scooters and power wheelchairs arrive by freight with liftgate service.
The freight carrier will call to schedule a delivery window. Freight deliveries are generally made to the closest accessible point, such as the end of the driveway, garage door, or another suitable exterior location.
Standard freight delivery does not include bringing the product through the door or setting it up inside your home. If you need that service, contact us about professional in-home setup.
Do you offer white-glove delivery and in-home setup?
Yes. We can arrange professional in-home setup throughout the contiguous United States. A technician can come to your home, unpack and assemble the mobility device, make basic adjustments, and show you how to operate and charge it.
In-home setup is included with select purchases and can be added to many other models. Contact us before ordering so we can make the arrangements.
The setup technician may visit separately after the freight carrier delivers your scooter or power wheelchair.
Why might my accessories arrive separately?
Some mobility devices and accessories ship from different locations. For example, a scooter may ship from one of Pride Mobility's distribution centers while a Mobility Yours accessory ships separately from us.
This is normal and does not mean anything is missing from your order. Separate tracking information may be provided for each shipment.
Assembly & Travel
Setup, transportation, and traveling with your mobility equipment.
Will my scooter or power wheelchair arrive assembled?
Most Pride products require only a few simple steps before use.
Go Go travel scooters and transportable models such as the Revo 2.0 arrive in sections designed to fit together without tools. Final setup generally involves connecting the scooter sections if needed, raising the tiller, placing the battery pack or battery boxes onto the scooter, installing the seat and basket, and making basic adjustments for the rider.
Folding power wheelchairs arrive assembled. Normally, you only need to unfold the chair, install the joystick in the armrest bracket, connect its cable, and install or switch on the battery.
Larger scooters and power wheelchairs arrive by freight mostly or fully assembled. The batteries are generally installed, although the seat back, armrests, tiller, or joystick may need to be positioned and adjusted.
Select models purchased from us include professional in-home setup. If setup is not included, our team is still available to help.
Can I take a mobility scooter or power wheelchair on an airplane?
Most mobility scooters and power wheelchairs can travel by air, but the airline must confirm that the device and battery can be transported safely. Your scooter or chair will usually be checked at the gate and stored in the aircraft's cargo compartment.
Many Pride travel models use sealed, non-spillable batteries that can generally remain installed when secured and protected from accidental operation. Removable lithium batteries may need to be removed, protected from damage and short circuits, and carried into the cabin.
Some extended-range lithium batteries may exceed airline limits. Always contact the airline before traveling and provide the model, dimensions, weight, battery type, watt-hour rating, and battery safety documentation.
What battery documentation will the airline need?
Airlines commonly request battery safety documentation, often referred to as an SDS or MSDS. This documentation should be available for your scooter or power wheelchair.
If you cannot locate it, call us and we can help provide the appropriate battery documentation for your Pride Mobility product.
Choosing the Right Scooter or Power Chair
Fit, seating, weight capacity, terrain, and other important considerations.
Should I get a mobility scooter or a power wheelchair?
The right choice depends on where you'll use it, how often you'll use it, and your comfort with the controls.
A mobility scooter is steered with a tiller, similar to handlebars. It is often a good fit for someone who can sit upright comfortably, has enough upper-body strength and reach to operate the tiller, and plans to use it for shopping, appointments, sidewalks, parks, and other trips outside the home.
A power wheelchair is controlled with a joystick and can turn in much tighter spaces. It is generally better suited for use inside the home, all-day mobility, or someone who needs additional seating and postural support.
You can also use our Find Your Best Fit comparison tool to compare models side by side.
Should I choose a 3-wheel or 4-wheel mobility scooter?
A 3-wheel scooter typically offers more legroom and a tighter turning radius, making it easier to maneuver indoors and in smaller spaces.
A 4-wheel scooter provides a wider, more stable base and is often preferred for outdoor use and uneven surfaces.
Some Pride 4-wheel scooters feature EZ Turn technology, allowing them to turn more tightly while retaining the stability of four wheels.
How do I choose the right weight capacity?
Choose a model with some capacity above your actual body weight, including clothing, bags, groceries, or medical equipment you may carry.
Standard models commonly support around 300 to 325 lb, while heavier-duty models may support 400, 450, or even 500 lb depending on the model.
If you're close to the rated capacity, especially for daily use or uneven terrain, moving to a higher-capacity model can provide additional room for performance and comfort.
How do I choose the right seat size?
Many Go Go travel scooters include a compact 17-inch by 17-inch seat. This helps keep the scooter lighter and easier to transport, but it may feel small for someone who needs more seating room or legroom.
Certain models, including the Go Go Endurance, are available with a larger 20-inch by 18-inch seat. A larger seat may provide more room and support, but it will also be heavier to lift and may increase the scooter's overall width.
Height and weight do not tell the entire story. Body shape, leg length, armrest spacing, and how long you'll use the scooter are also important. If you're concerned about fit, call us before ordering and we'll help compare the seating and legroom.
How do I know if it will fit through my doorways and hallways?
Measure the narrowest doorway with the door fully open and compare that measurement with the model's overall width.
Also consider turning space in hallways, kitchens, and bathrooms. Power wheelchairs generally turn more tightly than scooters, and mid-wheel-drive chairs typically offer particularly tight turning performance.
If you're unsure, call us with your measurements and we'll help you compare models.
Can I use a scooter or power wheelchair on grass, gravel, or uneven ground?
It depends on the model. Many standard scooters and power chairs can handle firm, level grass, packed gravel, and uneven sidewalks, but they are not designed for deep sand, mud, loose gravel, or rough trails.
For frequent outdoor use, consider a model with larger tires, increased ground clearance, stronger suspension, and greater stability.
Tell us where you plan to use the equipment and we'll help point you toward the appropriate models.
How can I make sure I choose the right model?
Start with our Find Your Best Fit comparison tool. It allows you to compare two scooters or power wheelchairs side by side, including size, range, weight capacity, turning radius, portability, and other important specifications.
If you're still unsure, call us. Our team can talk through where you'll use it, doorway measurements, seating comfort, transportation, and terrain. We would much rather help you choose the right model the first time.

Returns & Exchanges
What happens if the equipment isn't the right fit.
What is your return and exchange policy?
Eligible Pride Mobility scooters and power wheelchairs may be returned or exchanged within 30 days of delivery.
If another model would be a better fit, contact us about an exchange. We'll help you choose the right model, arrange the return freight, schedule the pickup, and in many exchange situations cover the return shipping.
Original packaging is required for all returns and exchanges. The equipment must be securely repacked with all manuals, keys, chargers, accessories, and included components.
To receive a full product refund, the equipment must be returned in new condition. If you simply change your mind or no longer need it, you are responsible for return shipping, but we can arrange the freight using our discounted dealer rates.
Deductions may apply if equipment has been used, scratched, damaged, or returned with missing parts or damaged packaging.
Will I be charged a restocking fee?
No. We are not in the business of charging automatic restocking fees.
Products returned within 30 days in new condition, with the original packaging and all included components, are eligible for a full product refund.
If equipment has been used, scratched, damaged, or returned with missing parts, deductions may apply for the actual replacement parts needed. These are not automatic restocking fees.
What if the scooter or power wheelchair isn't the right fit for me?
Contact us as soon as possible. If another model would be a better fit, we'll help you compare your options and work with you on an exchange.
This is also why we encourage customers to call before ordering if they have concerns about seating, overall width, turning radius, weight capacity, transportation, or terrain.
Do I need to keep the original packaging?
Yes. Original packaging is required for returns and exchanges, so we strongly recommend keeping the box, pallet, packing material, manuals, and other packaging until you're certain the equipment is right for you.
Still Not Sure Which Model Is Right for You?
